Junk Style not so junky

 Hey everyone. I wanted to show you the coat rack I've been working on for a while. Not that it took that much time to make in reality but spread out over a long period when I had time.

The large frame is one I found at a flea market during last summer, the gal had just purchased a trailer full of antique frames from a museum/art dealer and she hadn't even had time to go through them yet so she let me dig for gold. I paid $5 each for this one and several others. It sat around my studio taking up space for a few months before I decided a coat rack was what we really needed. A proper entry way where shoes are not scattered across the floor and coats aren't draped over the back of the sofa. :)

I'm slowly getting my entry way fixed the way I want it and this is the first large piece to getting there. 

After the antique frame I cut a scrap piece of an old real estate sign from the burn pile at work to fit and collaged it with old sheet music. 

I painted the frame and aged it with wax. 

Found some used 5x7 picture frames at the thrift store for 50 cents each and painted them to match. 

The knobs I have acquired over the fast few years. Found at yards sales, thrift stores, and the crystal one was found at a flea market for only $3! 

I drilled holes in the backboard, cut lengths of all thread and epoxied them into the doorknobs and screwed them into hardware set into the back.

Now I only have one more thing to do to it, I'm going to add est. 1995 (the year hubby and I were married)  above the picture frames and it will be completed.
