We're all a Little Mad Here...

Welcome to my corner of the Mad Tea Party Table. If you are going sit in on a Mad Tea you need a very special tea cup. I made this one yesterday just for this special occasion. It's made the same way you make those clear glass Christmas ball ornaments, by drizzling acrylic paint inside then swirling it with the end of a paint brush. (Of course we won't actually drink from this one, it's just set the mood, perhaps it will be a good place for the doormouse to rest.)

A little poem for our Mad Tea Goers.

The White Rabbit has made an appearance today. He ran through quickly disturbing us all so very much, screaming about being late or some other such nonsense.

Of course Alice drank from the bottle but somehow she fell inside so we just set her on the table and make funny faces at her through the glass.

Now that our guests are here how about a little entertainment, Cards anyone?...
(A vintage Alice In Wonderland card game, and two old wooden blocks with Alice and Tweedledee)

I made up a quick fabric book for those who prefer to read instead of playing games...

Alice
 The Cheshire Cat

The Mad Hatter
 The Queen of Hearts
The End

And now for a little more MAD READING!...
The Lobster Quadrille -by Lewis Carroll (from a 1930's children's book of poems)

And more information regarding Lewis Carroll...
I made this little tag using some awesome PS brushes I found on Deviantart by midnightstouch

A friend of mine who knows all things goofy and obscure told me last week the answer to the riddle in Alice in Wonderland. He said Lewis Carroll answered the riddle only once when asked, "Why is a Raven Like a writing desk?" His answer -because Poe wrote on both.
Just a little bit of trivia for our mad tea party today. And how well does Poe fit in at this tea table! LOL

I hope you had a good time at the Mad Tea! Come again soon!

  2. Very creative! Loved seeing what you made for the party! I'm early, but I wanted to be sure that I got a good start on visiting. I started at the top and worked down part way. Now, I'm starting at the bottom and working up! :-)

I think that Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum are two of my favorite characters in Wonderland. I didn't have them in my post today, but I'm glad to see that one made an appearance here.

    Happy Mad Tea Party...

    XO,

    Sheila :-)
