Christmas Blog Party

Sorry I'm late for the party, I was having technical difficulties this morning with my camera.

So first of all, Happy Holidays!

Now onto the party...

First off I would like to share whith you a few of my very favorite Christmas things. I love antique Christmas ornaments or anything vintage Christmas so here are a few of my best antique Christmas ornaments...

The sailboat with the seagull is an antique Chzeck beaded ornament and very rare, it was one of the first in my collection. The unicorn I love as well as the princess. I found the tin tree toy with the santa inside at a yard sale for 25 cents! Score! My kids love checking it out though they don't get to play with it on their own.

My Christmas tree is white with pink, bright green, and turquoise blue ornaments and having Christmas colors like this can make it difficult to find decorations to match so I have gotten creative and tried to think outside the box. Below is a photo of some recent thrift store finds, a black candle holder, some caroler figurines in brown etc etc (yeah that is my funkidelic sewing machine, it's a Singer Genie from the 60's and is "THE" most portable sewing machine that actually works ever made, LOVE that thing, but I'm rambling)

Now see them after being altered to match my colors (add a little white acrylic paint to Aleene's Tacky glue, paint that onto anything and sprinkle with glitter and tadah! You have snowy figurines)

Ok the crown to the right is all handmade out of found parts... 100 points if you can guess what it's made out of.....

It used to be an orange wire pumpkin, I cut the stem and leaves off I also cut the top off of a coffee can and wired it to the bottom and then spray painted it white, then added crystals and a fairy Christmas ornament to the top, some lights tucked inside make it sparkle at night. (sorry that pic didn't turn out)

So this holiday season is all about seeing things as they aren't (I'm big on that)

You don't have to settle for the decorations you can buy in the store, make things your own!
