I wanted to share this with everyone because it sounds like a neat idea.
Cloth Paper Scissors magazine is hosting a Fabric Exchange....
It was announced on page 54 of the Jan/Feb issue of Cloth Paper Scissors.

Here is what they had to say...
Create your own fabirc design, cut into 9inch squares and send the squares to us. We'll mix and match all of the fabrics we recieve and send a random sample book of sic fabrics back to you.
What are we going to do with the other two swatches?
We're putting the extra swatches into two giant swatch books and we'll choose one winner from the exchange participants to recieve it. The second book will be used for Create-related activities. Just think: YOU could be the winner! What would you do with all of those swatches?
The Rules:
1. Design a piece of fabric that is at 18"x36". You may paint, dye, discharge, stencil, stamp, journal, transfer, or use any other surface design technique you like.
(Note: your fabric must be free of any text or images that are protected by copyright, unless you have the expressed written permission from the person or institution that holds the copyright and you provide that written permission with your submission.)
2. Cut your fabric into eight 9"x9" squares
3. staple a business card or a 3"x5" card with your preferred contact information and a brief explanation of oyour surface design technique to the back of each piece of fabric. This information will travel with the fabric to the recipients.
4. Take a picture of your fabric and print out a copy of the photo to include with your submission. On the back of the photo, please include your full name, mailing address, email address, and phone number. This information will be used for any questions we have about your submission and also to mail your fabric swatches to you. We encourage you to upload the image of your fabric entry to our photo gallery on the www.clothpaperscissors.com community.
5. for safety, place your fabric in a plastic bag for shipping.
6. Include and entry fee of $6 (U.S. and Canada) $14 all other international, to cover postage and handling. All funds must be in U.S. Dollars and made payable to Interweave. Exchange participants including internation residents, may charge the entry fee to their credit card. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Please include the necessary information, including the expiration date and CVV code with your entry.
(Note: you may enter this exchange more than once, but each entry must be unique and shipped and paid for seperately. Based on the quantitiy of entries we recieve, you may recieve duplicate swatches.)
7. You fabric must be in our offices by Monday March 28 2011
8. We willswap and mail them out no later than the week of May 23 2011
9. Some of the fabrics will be featured in an upcoming issue of Cloth Paper Scissors and/or on our website.
