I wanted to share a little goodie I made for a swap over at the Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group.
We are working on swaps celebrating the birth of Marie Antoinette.
We were given a cake box pattern and were supposed to decorate it any way we wanted to, then fill it with goodies for our partner.
The swap was hosted by Marti www.artfulcuriosities.blogspot.com
and my box was made for Lorraine http://rainebeau.blogspot.com
I covered this cake box with scrapbook paper, then brushed tacky glue over the surface and sprinkled on clear glitter so it sparkles.
I then cut out a circle of cardboard large enough to hold the "cake slice" and covered it with paper. I glued some tiny vintage rick rack around the edge and attached the round cake "plate" to a vintage silver candle holder.
To decorate the cake slice I added antique rickrack with crochet around the top and vintage mother of pearl buttons around the bottom. A velvet flower, piece of antique lace, and a framed printed picture of Marie Antoinette adorn the top. A couple of silk flowers embellish the cake slice on either side.
This was so much fun.
