1868 Peterson's Womens MagazineFree Images

Walk with me friends back to a more simple time...
I came across an old magazine printed in 1868 this week at a flea market. Several pages were missing but some really neat ones were still intact. It has stories and poems, recipes (wait, did I say "simple time"? if you read some of these recipes you would be very thankful indeed for your microwave today) and fashion reports. The fashion report is a trip to read, made me feel sorry for those gals that had to wear all those layers for "decency" and makes me love my jeans and t-shirts even more! LOL
So here are a few quaint pics...

"Now is the time to make up clubs!" I wish that article had been in there, I wanted to read it, LOL
Here are some fashion plates...

And here is a handkerchief pattern for those embroidering their own...

I hope you have enjoyed this trip back in time to 1868.
Come back tomorrow when I have a new mixed media project to share with you.
Have a great day!

I have some VERY Exciting news to share soon. Can't wait to spill the beans!
