I've been looking for one of these vintage desk fans for some time. Most of the ones I have seen have been old rusty things that don't have much life left in them unless you know how to restore them. This one was just about perfect. First of all it's the right color, LOL. Plugged in it ran like a top from the first moment with no pings or grinding. It's a bit dusty and has a little bit of oil scum here and there but that's nothing I can't handle. I'm taking it apart and oiling all the parts and cleaning all the old oil off and out of it today to ensure that it will run for years to come. That little card I made last night and shared on my scrapbook blog today.
The "Wizard".
I just love the shape of the bottom. So "50's". Reminds me of the shape of a hood on an old car like this one...
This is my Grandma Mary.
This is my grandma Mary and my grandpa Arnold. Aren't they a cute couple?
Hope your day is awesome!

Poking my head in here to tell you that I am new to following your blog. Love your way of sharing things and all you great art pieces. I just adore old fans. At one point in time had several to "re-do and reclaim" but got good sense and gifted them to others to enjoy. This one is a beauty. So are the pix of your grandparents.
Just saying hi,
Wow, that fan is a great find. I can remember yelling at my brother for hogging all the air whenever he stood in front of the fan in grandpa's garage.
Yes, very cute couple indeed.
Wonderful treasure you found in that fan. I love the photos of your grandma and grandpa atop the stylish old car. Happy fanning...
Love Grandma Mary! Grandpa's pretty cool too! I love old fans, I have three of them and I love it when I can finally bring them out of storage. It means summer!
Have a wonderful Mother's Day! Translate that to hope you don't have to make lunch!!!
