One World One Heart Blog Event & How do you do!

It is appropriate that this years theme is "Magic Carpet Ride" because it truly has been a magical experiance getting to visit people from all over the world. To see what they create and what their interests are, it's been just... well... magical!

 I didn't find out about this event until yesterday and I was going to do a post about the pocket journal I created on Sat today so I decided to join OWOH and use the pocket journal I made as my giveaway.

My name is Thespoena but everyone calls me Thespa, I am a self taught mixed media, altered artist, who loves every kind of craft known to man. If you can think of a craft I've probably tried it at least once. Anything from indian Quill work (that's sewing with porcupine quills, not paper rolling, although I've tried that too, LOL) to stained glass, and sewing to beeswax. I am a scrapbook enthusiast and have been published in several scrapbook magazines and have won several national contests. I love all forms of creating.

I get a thrill when I see a rusty pile of junk on the road with a big free sign on it. I love using old junk in new ways. I enjoy being a part of the blogger community. Exploring the blogs of others is an amazing inspirational journey that I wouldn't give up for anything.

Now onto my giveaway!

This is a 4" by 3 1/2" mixed media pocket journal. It has 18 handmade pages and all the stitching was done by hand. The fabrics used  were all coffee dyed so it has a soft pleasing aroma of waking up in the morning.

The front cover features a flower made of coffee dyed antique lace with an antique button in the center. There is an altered plastic crystal that says friend (cut from an old hymnal)

Each page has real antique and vintage ephemera that was cut, torn, and pasted.  There are no photocopies in this journal. The lighter colors catalog images were taken from a 1970's reproduction of a 1909 Sears Catalog so those too are vintage.

 

 

 

 

 

I hope that someone will love and cherish this journal. I put a lot of time into it and I hope you like it.
