Yesterday I decided to check and see how many posts I've done, I have been meaning to do this for a while now because I wanted to do a giveaway and have some fun at 100 but then kept forgetting.
Well it must have been on my mind cause when I looked I was at 99. Wow! That snuck up on me quick!
So last night I threw together some things so share, some things to learn from and some things to give away.
Hope you enjoy!
First I would like to share some of the awesome deals I came across yesterday at lunch at my favorite flea market "The Rose".
I found an old cabinet card with children, some old leather baby shoes, an old Avon powder tin in cream and turquoise, some shabby glass pearls (so shabby in fact there isn't much pearl color left on them but the rhinestone dividers are awesome!) an old leather bound ledger, an old ruler from an art supply store, some old doilies and lace, and my favorite thing of all was this old leather purse from the early 1900's.
Yes the purse no longer has any of it's horsehair stitching intact so it flops right open, it's worn and weathered just the way leather should be, my first thought? how awesome would it be as a cover for an altered book?!!!
SaWeeeeet! and the clasp is in perfect working condition with a filigree button head that is just gorgeous so I'm going to have to figure out what I'll be using that on later!
Now for a Learning Experience, I came up with this tutorial last night just for you my blogland friends...
A Vintage Handkerchief Holder Card
The lady image is from the Graphics Fairy, the background image is the same as my blog, and the edging is from a piece of antique sheet music.
You can print your own by left clicking the image below and right click to save to your computer.
My shop www.vintiquitiesmarket.com will be opening soon and you will be able to buy these with brand new vintage hankies of all sorts of lovely designs. But for now you can make your own as gifts!
Then fold a vintage handkerchief accordion style from the left and right making sure a corner is pointing down and thread the top through the hole, fold and tape the excess hankie to the back of the card. You may need to iron the handkerchief so that it stays flat.
!!!!!NOW FOR THE GIVEAWAY!!!!!
So many vintage goodies! Lots of image rich vintage book pages, antique music sheets, vintage and antique cards of all shapes and sizes, a wooden cabinet purse, antique buttons, antique lace bits, and the hankie card from my tutorial!
All you have to do to be entered to win is blog about this giveaway and then come back here and leave a link to your post in the comment section below! And if you mention the contest I'm having now too that would be great!
That's it!
And as a huge thank you to my followers for all their support, everyone who is or becomes a follower will get an extra entry. I will be announcing the winner next Monday!
Thanks for visiting!
P.S. DON'T FORGET, I'm having a creative contest and entries are due by June 14th!!!!!
