Skinny Stocking Tutorial & Gift Swap Sign Up!

As promised today I'm sharing my skinny stocking pattern, just a quick one I drew up for a small skinny stocking this week.
The outside is natural batting and the inside is a fine muslin.
They are very simple and easy to make and can be decorated any way you want.

Pattern pieces, just right click and save then print to fit standard sheet of paper. Tape together at line.

These have a very small seam allowance of 1/4" so if you prefer to have more room for sewing you will need to add it to your pattern before you cut it out.

 1. pin pattern to double layer of natural quilt batting and cut out.
2. pin pattern to double layer of muslin and cut out

3. Stitch around stocking using 1/4" seam allowance making sure to start and stop stitching at the dots.
4. trim close to stitching and make a clip at the dot from the edge to the stitching.

5. Turn stocking right side out and pin the top edges (here you can see where the fabric was clipped at the dot)
6. stitch from top to dot.

7. Fold top of stocking down (now is a good time to stitch ribbon or lace to the bottom of the folded edge)

8. Decorate any way you like.
This pattern is free to use any way you like. Although if you share it please add a link back to me.

***A Quick Holiday swap to fill our newly made stockings***
Vintage Bling Gift Swap!

I've decided to host a very quick gift swap.
1. Email me to sign up for the swap any time till Dec 1st (keeping in mind that items must be mailed ON or Before Dec 1st)  *in the email please include links to your blog and/or online gallery, your mailing address, and contact information. Then grab the swap button from my sidebar and share it with others!
2. Make 5 gifts in the theme of "Vintage White Bling". (white, cream, tan, etc, can be paired with small amounts of other colors)
-You can make jewelry, decor, artworks, all gifts you make can be the same or 5 different things, just make sure they are well crafted nice things that you yourself would be very proud to receive. It's Christmas and you are making gifts for others.
3. Each gift must contain an element of "Bling" either with rhinestones, glitter, vintage tinsel etc.
4. Label each gift clearly with a tag containing your contact information.
5. Mail items to me with $5 for return postage on or before Dec 1st.
***(They MUST arrive to me by Dec 5th! Please keep this in mind when mailing, I will be wrapping and boxing all swaps on Sunday Dec. 6th and mailing them out on Monday Dec. 7th, any package that comes after the 5th will be returned without swapping due to time constraints)
6. Friday Dec 18th we will have a Christmas Party Blog Reveal where we get to show what we sent and what we got in return so don't forget to take pictures of your work.

So email me and get crafting!

It's Graphics Fairy Brag Monday. In my stocking design I used the vintage ballerina image from
The Graphics Fairy and will be linking up with Brag Monday on her site.
