Bank of Happiness

How lovely an idea to be able to send a check payable from the Bank of Happiness to whomever you wish.
Isn't this just a sweet postcard? Notice the date 190?
Print it out and send it off "366" days a year. LOL
This is just a pretty page from an old music book. I fell in love with those Cherubs at the top. So pretty.

I originally planned to post pics of my now finished dress form today, but got lazy last night and watched tv instead of uploading pics off the camera. Will post tomorrow for sure though.

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

Sealing Friendship

I've been so much helped by kind words and new friendships this past week, I want to say thank you so much to everyone who has helped me through.
Poem from 1902 book "Heap O' Livin"

"Be a Friend"

Be a friend. You don't need money;
Just a disposition sunny;
Just the wish to help another
Get along some way or other;
Just a kindly hand extended
Out to one who's unbefriended;
Just the will to give or lend,
This will make you someone's friend.

Be a friend. You don't need glory.
Friendship is a simple story.
Pass by trifling errors blindly,
Gaze on honest effort kindly,
Cheer the youth who's bravely trying,
Pity him who's sadly sighing;
Just a little labor spend
On the duties of a friend.

Be a friend. The pay is bigger
(Though not written by a figure)
Than is earned by people clever
In what's merely self-endeavor.
You'll have friends instead of neighbors
For the profits of your labors;
You'll be richer in the end
Than a prince, if you're a friend.

Have a happy day!

Some free vintage goodies!

This vintage postcard is a Christmas card but I thought the pretty little girl in the middle would be perfect for Easter or Valentine's day creations.
And here is the back...

I just love the backs of postcards. I think it's so neat that they would sign their names with a "Miss". So sweet.

And last  is a cabinet card with a picture of a steam locomotive...

Hope you all enjoy these.

I'm working on a collage piece with the theme friendship. I think all this traveling around meeting new people through their blogs has got me to thinking about the word "friend".

Till next time my blog friends!

Upcoming events...

I have some VERY Exciting news to share soon. Can't wait to spill the beans!
